Mom's LilliesAn Original Oil Painting by Gene Amondson
Winters were long in our little logging camp of Kosmos, Washington when I was a child. So when spring came with flowers, we may have enjoyed flowers more than most. The flower my mom grew best was the Calla Lily. The camp wanted them for weddings and funerals. So with death, the whole camp felt the loss or with every party or wedding the camp felt the joy. No flower touched this logging camp more than my mom's Cally Lilies. My mom, is as exciting and beautiful as this flower and as wild as a logger, even at age 90.
