Huckleberry CampAn Original Oil Painting by Gene Amondson
Few have tasted real huckleberry pie. The indians have picked them for 1000's of years. I went up to the high country two years ago to pick huckleberries at the end of summer
but could not find enough for a pie, so had to buy them for $22 a gallon (3 pies worth). The price goes up to $60 a gallon in winter. If you ever have a wonderful black tart huckleberry pie you will never go back to the blueberry that God made for city people.
